hammerhead... like all sharks this 6-meter hunter has an amazing sense of smell and can detect blood in the water from many kilometres away. A sharks skin is like sandpaper because its scales a shapes like tiny version's of its sharp teeth in its mouth. most sharks live alone but hammerheads will gather together in groups to breed.
Sharks and Humans
people hunt sharks for all kind of useful products such as shark skin,liver oil and leather.sharks have been around for much longer than humans have.Sharks are sometimes described as vicious killers but they only kill in order to survive.
Fear of sharks
many people are very scared of being bitten or even eaten by a shark while swimming in the sea.One reason people find sharks so frighting is that they live underwater so its hard to see them.
SHARK ATTACKS
men are more likely then woman to be attack by a shark,probably because more men go surfing and swim furtherout in the sea. experts have found out that if a shark does take a bit of human fleash it often spits it out or vomits it up later.most shark attacks happen in the summer and during the afternoon.
SAVING SHARKS
did you know that some sharks are now endangerd and people have started working to try save them. some sharks take in interest in diving cages and seem to be more tame when they have cantact with humans. to help protect, people should avoid buying products such as SHARK -FIN SOUP
